Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 per annum + Superannuation
Work Schedule: Rotating roster including overnight, weekend and public holiday shifts
About Us
Sam's East St Bakehouse is a busy 24/7 bakery located in Melbourne’s northern suburbs, specialising in fresh breads, pastries, Turkish-style baked goods, and desserts. Due to continued business growth and high customer demand across both walk-in and online delivery platforms, we are seeking an experienced Baker to join our production team.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Preparing and baking a variety of breads, pastries, doughs and baked products
- Mixing, kneading, shaping and proofing doughs according to recipes and production schedules
- Monitoring oven temperatures and baking processes to maintain product consistency and quality
- Preparing fillings, toppings and bakery ingredients
- Coordinating the loading, baking, unloading, de-panning and cooling of bread, rolls and pastry products.
- Maintaining food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards in accordance with workplace procedures
- Assisting with stock rotation and ingredient preparation
- Working collaboratively within a fast-paced commercial bakery environment
- Undertaking overnight and early morning production shifts as required
Skills & Experience
To be considered for this role, applicants should have:
- Relevant qualification in Baking or related field and/or relevant industry experience in a commercial bakery environment
- Experience working in a commercial bakery environment
- Knowledge of dough preparation, fermentation and baking processes
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume production environment
- Strong attention to detail and food quality standards
- Flexibility to work rotating rosters including overnight shifts, weekends and public holidays
- Good communication and teamwork skills
