About Us
ICON Engineering has been delivering offshore oil and gas projects across Australia and internationally since 1997. We're a privately owned engineering consultancy with a reputation built on practical delivery — field development, wellhead platforms, subsea engineering, and offshore construction — across WA, Southeast Asia, and beyond. The people here have real project histories and the work reflects it.
About the Opportunity
We're looking for a Project Manager with a strong track record delivering jacket and topsides field development projects, and hands-on experience with jackup rig interface and marine operations.
You'll take ownership of project delivery across a mix of jacket and topsides scopes on field development and wellhead platform projects — working directly with clients and rig owners to plan and execute marine operations safely, on schedule, and within budget. Your involvement will span the full project lifecycle, including support of study phase scopes of work, not just detailed design and execution.
This is a hands-on delivery role, not an oversight function: you'll be expected to solve problems in real time, not escalate them.
Your accountabilities will include:
- Leading project delivery on jacket and topsides scopes for field development and wellhead platform projects, from planning through to execution and close-out
- Supporting study phase scopes of work — concept selection, feasibility, and early planning — ahead of detailed design and execution
- Managing jackup rig interface and marine operations planning across offshore campaigns
- Working autonomously to develop practical solutions to complex engineering and logistics problems
- Ensuring full compliance with ICON's site HSE requirements
- Achieving project KPIs for scope, schedule, cost, and quality
- Leading and developing project teams across multi-discipline scopes
- Managing client and rig owner relationships to build repeat business
- Contributing to cost estimating and tender/proposal preparation for future field development work
About You
You hold tertiary qualifications in an engineering field, with 10+ years' experience in the oil and gas or offshore sector. Your experience spans project management, offshore engineering, rig operations, and marine operations planning. Essential attributes you'll bring to this role include:
- Demonstrated project management experience across jacket and/or topsides modification scopes
- Direct, hands-on experience with jackup rig operations and marine operations planning
- Well versed in offshore industry design codes, standards, and marine operations requirements
- Proven capability managing project budgets and schedules, achieving KPIs on cost, schedule, and quality
- Demonstrated offshore site experience supervising personnel and contractors
- Ability to lead, influence, and motivate project teams in a fast-moving, multi-stakeholder environment
- Experience in cost estimating and tender/proposal preparation
- Confident, credible client-facing communicator — comfortable engaging directly with clients, rig owners, and marine crews
Benefits
- Flexible working arrangements and an optional 9-day fortnight
- Excellent end-of-trip facilities, on-site gym, and social club events
- Mentoring and support for further learning and development
- A confidential Employee Assistance Program
At ICON, you'll work on real jacket and topsides scopes on field development and wellhead platform projects for established oil and gas clients — with the autonomy to own delivery and the backing of an experienced team who understand what the work demands.
