Part of the Robert Plumb Collective, and newly merged with Captive Cabinetmaking, Cranbrook Workshop is in a growth phase with a strong pipeline of upcoming projects. Cranbrook Workshop specialises in custom joinery and cabinetry, balancing modern carpentry technologies with care and craft. We provide all types of joinery from simple solutions to more highly articulated interior designer led treatments.
The position is full-time and located in our workshop in Botany.
Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Floor Manager with a strong background in cabinet making and a commitment to quality craftsmanship. In this role, you will oversee daily factory operations, coordinate production workflows, and lead a skilled team of cabinet makers to deliver premium architectural joinery projects. You will ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality and precision.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate daily workshop production
- Lead and support a team of cabinet makers
- Mentor and guide apprentices
- Monitor workflow, production schedules, and project deadlines
- Ensure all work meets quality standards and project specifications
- Maintain a safe and organised workshop
- Liaise with project teams, installers, and the Director to ensure smooth project delivery
- Assist with day-to-day manufacturing tasks
Skills & experience
- Qualified Cabinet Maker or Joiner
- Previous experience in a supervisory or floor management role within similar cabinet making or joinery environment
- Strong knowledge of cabinetmaking processes, materials and machinery
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
