This role will suit a capable and collaborative professional with strong hydrologic and hydraulic modelling experience, a passion for solving complex flood-related challenges, and a desire to grow their career within a values-driven consulting environment.

Lead and manage flooding and hydrology projects, or work packages within multi-disciplinary projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Deliver technical flood and hydrology work, including hydrologic studies, hydraulic analysis, flood modelling, flood mapping, surface water management assessments, and report writing.

Undertake flood risk assessments, interpret complex model results, and provide clear, practical recommendations on flood risk mitigation and sustainable design solutions.

Prepare high-quality technical reports, memoranda, presentations, and inputs to fee proposals and tender submissions, including scopes of work and budgets.

Collaborate with clients, local authorities, regulatory agencies, project managers, and other discipline leads to support project outcomes and smooth delivery across teams.

Mentor junior engineers, review technical work, and contribute to continuous improvement by promoting high standards, innovation, and current best practice in flood modelling and risk management.
Profile/Skills:
About You
-
Qualifications in Civil or Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science, with strong technical capability in hydrology, hydraulic modelling, and flood risk management.

7+ years’ experience delivering flood assessments, hydrology, and hydraulic modelling within Australian consulting environments, with NSW experience strongly preferred.

Major infrastructure project experience is essential, with the capability to contribute confidently within multi-disciplinary teams and step into discipline package lead responsibilities.

Strong experience developing and reviewing complex hydrologic and hydraulic models, with advanced knowledge of tools such as RORB, TUFLOW (essential), and HEC-RAS.

Sound technical understanding of hydrology assessments, including the application of Australian Rainfall and Runoff 2019, relevant regional and local procedures, and clear communication of technical outcomes to clients and stakeholders.

Chartered status, understanding of flood policy and approval pathways, and familiarity with tools such as 12d and DRAINS will be highly regarded.
