About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and safety-focused Service Locator & Potholer to join our growing team. This hands-on role involves locating underground utilities, performing non-destructive excavation (NDD) and potholing works, and supporting civil and construction projects to ensure safe excavation practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Locate and identify underground services including water, gas, electricity, telecommunications, and sewer infrastructure.
- Conduct potholing and vacuum excavation activities using hydro excavation equipment.
- Read and interpret utility plans, drawings, and service maps.
- Mark out underground services accurately and in accordance with industry standards.
- Prepare service location reports and site documentation.
- Perform daily vehicle and equipment inspections.
- Maintain a strong commitment to workplace health and safety procedures.
- Liaise professionally with clients, contractors, and site personnel.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in service locating, utility locating, potholing, vacuum excavation, or civil construction preferred.
- Knowledge of underground utility networks and asset identification.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and utility drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- White Card (essential).
- Current driver's licence (essential).
- MR/HR licence and relevant industry certifications highly regarded.
