About the Opportunity
Are you an experienced Civil Design Engineer with strong communication skills, team oriented and looking to make a meaningful impact in Local Government? Or are you a motivated graduate ready to build your engineering career in a supportive and collaborative environment?
Glenelg Shire Council has two exciting opportunities to join our Projects and Engineering team.
We are seeking experienced Civil Design Engineers who are passionate about delivering quality infrastructure outcomes. We also welcome applications from undergraduate students who are expected to complete their engineering degree within the next six months and are looking to begin their career in Local Government.
As a Civil Design Engineer, you will provide technical support across a diverse range of engineering projects, including:
- Developments
- Civil engineering works
- Infrastructure projects
- Investigation and design of future works
Whether you bring extensive industry experience or are looking to take the first step in your engineering career, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to projects that make a real difference to our community while working within a supportive and experienced team.

What you need to Succeed
- Excellent people skills.
- A Degree in Civil Engineering.
- A minimum of three years relevant experience if applying for the Civil Design Engineer position.
- Eligible for membership of the Institution of Engineers.
- Have, or progression towards the Registered Professional Engineer of Victoria.
- Current Driver’s Licence.
