About the role
The Mater Department of Dietetics and Foodservices is currently seeking a motivated and team-orientated new graduate dietitian to join their dynamic team. This position is available on a fixed term, full time basis for a period of 12 months commencing August 2026 with the possibility of short extension.
Dietitians at Mater Health provide comprehensive, high quality, evidence-based Nutrition and Dietetics services to both adult and paediatric patients within Mater public and private hospitals located at the South Brisbane campus.
Salary range: $41.0645 - $60.3567 (HP3) per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
The successful applicant will be responsible for managing a clinical caseload whilst contributing to quality improvement initiatives and best practice models of dietetic care. Clinical responsibilities may include the provision of nutrition care to adults across a range of clinical areas, including both public and private inpatients and public outpatients. The successful applicant will also have the opportunity to participate in professional mentoring and peer group supervision.
About you
The successful applicant will demonstrate:
- Comprehensive knowledge of Nutrition and Dietetics service in a hospital setting
- Commitment to continuous quality improvement, evidence-based practice and professional development
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication (both verbal and written) and time management skills, including the ability to work collaboratively within the Nutrition and Dietetics Department and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
To be eligible for this position, applicants must be an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD), or be eligible to apply for APD status, and have successfully graduated from a dietetics university program accredited by Dietitians Australia within the last 12 months, with less than 6 months clinical working experience.
