Key Responsibilities
Service Excellence
- Run your section with confidence — greeting guests, presenting menus, taking orders, and maintaining control of table pacing.
- Deliver service aligned to the San Lorenzo sequence — polished, attentive, and never rushed.
- Maintain exceptional presentation standards in table setup, glassware, cutlery, and floor appearance.
- Work closely with the kitchen and bar to coordinate timing and ensure seamless delivery.
- Confidently describe menu items, ingredients, and daily specials; make informed recommendations based on guest preferences.
- Present and pour wine with professionalism (training provided).
- Monitor table turnover and assist with reservations and seating transitions via SevenRooms reservations platform.
- Guest Experience is paramount.
- Build rapport with guests; anticipate their needs and remember preferences where possible.
- Handle guest concerns or special requests calmly and professionally, escalating to management when required.
- Uphold the San Lorenzo tone — refined, warm, and personal.
Teamwork & Communication
- Support other sections and assist runners and junior staff to maintain service flow.
- Participate in daily briefings, menu tastings, and product knowledge sessions.
- Maintain clear, respectful communication with colleagues and management.
- Take direction from Duty Managers and the Venue Manager; proactively contribute ideas for service improvements.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a quality restaurant, hotel, or premium dining venue.
- Knowledge of modern Italian cuisine and wine service is advantageous (training provided).
- Excellent communication, memory, and organisational skills.
- Polished presentation, articulate and professional demeanour.
- Calm under pressure; thrives in busy, high-end environments.
- Team-focused, reliable, and takes pride in consistency.
- Holds a current RSA (Victoria).
- Available for shifts Tuesday–Saturday, including lunch and dinner services.
Hours & Structure
- Part-time or full-time positions available.
- Typical shift schedule:
- Lunch service: 11 am – 4 pm
- Dinner service: 5 pm – close (~10:30 pm)
- No Sunday or Monday trade — ideal work/life balance for hospitality professionals.
- Additional hours available for private functions.
