The Role
An opportunity has arisen to join Mills Oakley’s high performing and supportive Management Team as the firm’s AML/CTF Operations Analyst in our Melbourne office.
As the AML/CTF Operations Analyst, you will be supporting the AML/CTF Compliance Officer in ensuring that the firm meets its legal, regulatory and ethical obligations. Your duties will encompass a range of responsibilities, including:
- supporting the firm with the performance of client due diligence as part of client onboarding;
- supporting the AML/CTF Compliance Officer with the preparation of AML/CTF regulatory reports (as required) and AML/CTF operational reporting;
- reviewing complex legal entity structures and resolving discrepancies identified as part of client due diligence;
- conducting quality assurance reviews;
- acting as a trusted advisor to the firm as part of a decentralised operating model;
- ensuring appropriate client due diligence processes are in place and being followed by staff; and
- ensuring staff are adequately trained on client due diligence obligations and updating training content as regulations evolve.
Skills and Experience Required
- Three to five years’ AML/CTF operational experience is highly desirable, with demonstrated ability to conduct initial and ongoing customer due diligence, and ability to provide practical, risk-based support to the firm;
- Experience in a similar role within a law firm, financial institution or professional services organisation is desirable;
- Comprehensive knowledge of the AML/CTF Act and Rules as they relate to customer due diligence and regulatory reporting;
- Strong attention to detail;
- Respect for client confidentiality; and
- Strong stakeholder management, communication and problem-solving skills.
