About the role
National Parks and Wildlife Service has a unique opportunity for an Asset Officer to join the Major Asset Renewal Team and play a pivotal role in supporting the management of a diverse asset portfolio. You will support the lifecycle management of assets through the maintenance of asset information, analysis of asset data and the delivery of asset management programs.
As an Asset Officer, you will play a key role in improving asset management outcomes across Greater Sydney Branch. A significant component of the role involves maintaining asset data within the asset management system. You will apply asset management principles to support planning and prioritisation activities. You will provide advice to geographically dispersed teams and contribute to the delivery of infrastructure projects.
About you
You are a self-motivated and proactive professional who enjoys taking ownership of your work and finding practical solutions to problems. You have strong analytical skills and enjoy working with data to identify trends, support decision-making and drive continuous improvement. You can follow established processes, procedures and guidance documents. You are confident using technology and enjoy learning new systems.
You are comfortable working independently and managing competing priorities. You can make informed decisions and resolve issues with minimal supervision. You enjoy a mix of office and field-based work with a willingness to undertake site inspections where required.
An effective communicator, you can build positive working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. You can draw on your asset management and project delivery experience to support maintenance, renewal and upgrade projects. Experience working with asset management systems and spatial technologies will be highly regarded.
Essential requirements
- Demonstrated experience in asset management frameworks and systems including program supervision, coordination and data management
- Demonstrated experience liaising with and coordinating staff or contractors undertaking asset maintenance and construction activities
- Knowledge of and experience in the application of construction codes, safe work practices and risk management in the construction and maintenance of facilities and infrastructure
- Demonstrated understanding of financial reporting requirements for capital projects as well as an understanding of risk management principles as they apply to maintenance and construction of infrastructure and assets
- Understanding of the legislation applying to protected area management, contract management, Workplace Health and Safety, construction standards and environmental planning
- A current Australian driver’s licence
