What you'll be doing
In this senior clinical role, you will provide advanced physiotherapy assessment, intervention and discharge planning for patients presenting to the Emergency Department. You will utilise expert clinical reasoning to support complex presentations and help patients access the right care in the right setting at the right time. This is an excellent opportunity for physiotherapists wishing to work in a dynamic work environment with a motivated and capable team. This position works as part of a rotating roster with 10-hour shifts (10:00-20:30 hours) across the 7 day continuum.
Key responsibilities include:
Deliver advanced physiotherapy assessment and intervention for complex, comorbid and socially vulnerable patients in the Emergency Department
Facilitate safe and timely discharge from ED and provide expert recommendations regarding admission pathways and ongoing care needs
Develop strong partnerships with community services, including Hospital in the Home, to support continuity of care and early discharge planning
Provide leadership, consultation, education and clinical supervision to physiotherapy staff, students and multidisciplinary colleagues
Lead and contribute to quality improvement initiatives, service development and evidence-based practice activities

Selection Criteria
Extensive post graduate clinical experience in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and demonstrated core competency skills in Cardiorespiratory, orthopaedic, gerontology, and Neurological Physiotherapy.
Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, throughout all organisational levels
