As an Electrician, you'll play a vital role in maintaining the electrical safety and reliability of our Rolling Stock. You'll be at the forefront of ensuring our equipment and systems run smoothly, helping us maintain the highest safety standards and operational efficiency.
This position is based at Pioneer Mill in North Queensland's Burdekin region, known for its stunning landscapes, rich agricultural heritage, and a vibrant community. The Burdekin region offers a fantastic lifestyle with a warm climate, beautiful beaches and a range of recreational activities, making it a great place to live and work.
During the crushing, this position operates on a continuous rotating shift roster, which may include weekends and occasional overtime. Once the crushing is complete and the Mill enters the maintenance period, the role switches to a day work schedule.
Your Role in Action
- Assist with identifying scope of work and troubleshooting equipment breakdowns.
- Perform planned and unplanned maintenance and support capital projects safely and on time.
- Install, repair, maintain, and test equipment within training and safety requirements.
- Ensure work orders, permits, and safety procedures are completed and followed correctly.
- Work within a small multi-skilled team to maintain mobile plant and support apprentices.
Your Winning Combination
We're looking for a motivated individual with a current Queensland Electrical Work Licence and post-trade experience in heavy industry electrical or instrumentation work. Current CPR and Low Voltage Rescue certifications are required. Ideally, you'll also have a Cert 3 or 4 in Instrumentation, experience with fixed plant maintenance, and familiarity with LV motor control and PLC systems. Don't have all of the skills yet?
