The role
You'll be based at The Victoria Hotel, a heritage property on Little Collins Street in the heart of the Melbourne CBD, part of the Independent Collection by EVT. Set on the doorstep of Melbourne Town Hall and just minutes from Flinders Street Station and Federation Square, the hotel is a favourite with business and leisure guests alike, offering 371 heritage rooms alongside a lively bar and dining scene, function rooms, and event spaces right in the middle of the city's action.
As a Food & Beverage Attendant, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring our guests receive top-notch service and have a memorable experience. You'll be responsible for taking orders, serving food and beverages, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere, whether that's at the bar, in the restaurant, room service, or across conferencing and events.
Key responsibilities
- Welcome and seat guests, provide menus, and take accurate orders, noting any special requests or dietary requirements.
- Deliver food and drinks promptly and to standard, checking in regularly with guests to address any needs or concerns.
- Keep the area clean and well organised, including clearing tables, resetting, and restocking.
- Communicate orders to the kitchen and ensure food is prepared correctly and delivered promptly.
- Present bills, process payments accurately, and suggest additional menu items, specials, or beverages to enhance the guest experience.
- Follow safety and hygiene protocols, and stay flexible with your schedule, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
What you'll bring
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Knowledge of food and beverage items, including wine and cocktails (training will be provided).
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items.
