About the Role
Your Supported Living (YSL) is seeking experienced Disability Support Workers to join our team, with an immediate opportunity supporting a participant in the Midland area.
We are looking for confident, reliable and resilient Support Workers who have previous experience supporting people with psychosocial disability and mental health needs.
This is a hands-on support role focused on providing 24/7 consistent, person-centred assistance while encouraging choice, independence and involvement in everyday life.
The role includes day shifts, night shifts and sleepovers, so genuine flexibility across a range of shifts will be highly regarded.
Your Responsibilities
Depending on the participant's individual needs and support plan, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing assistance with personal care and daily living
- Meal preparation and support with maintaining everyday routines
- Medication assistance in accordance with support plans and YSL procedures
- Assistance with household tasks
- Supporting and encouraging independence
- Providing consistent psychosocial and mental health support
- Supporting community access and participation
- Following individual support plans, routines and strategies
- Maintaining professional boundaries
- Completing accurate shift notes and required documentation
- Communicating effectively with YSL management and other members of the support team
- Working confidently and independently while knowing when to seek additional support
About You
We're looking for Support Workers who can build professional, respectful relationships while providing reliable and consistent support.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience working in disability support or a similar role
- Experience supporting people with psychosocial disability and mental health needs
- Confidence working independently
- A calm and professional approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries
- Reliability and consistency
- A genuine commitment to person-centred support
- Flexibility to work days, nights and sleepover shifts
Qualifications in Individual Support, Disability, Mental Health, Community Services or a related field will be highly regarded.
Essential Requirements
Applicants will need to meet YSL's employment and compliance requirements, including:
- Certificate IV in disabilities or similar
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Current Australian driver's licence
- Access to a reliable, appropriately insured vehicle
- Appropriate working rights in Australia
- Ability to complete required electronic documentation and shift notes
- Any additional screening, checks or training required for the role
Availability
This is a casual position based predominantly in Midland, with potential opportunities across surrounding Perth suburbs as YSL continues to grow.
We are currently seeking workers who can provide genuine flexibility across:
- Day shifts
- Night shifts
- Sleepovers
- Weekends
Additional shifts may become available based on participant needs and your availability.
