Job Description
Specialist Automation Technician
Daily tasks include
- Install and assemble automated conveyor and material-handling systems in accordance with engineering drawings, technical specifications, work packs and client requirements.
- Assist in the installation, configuration, testing and commissioning of automation equipment, control systems and associated mechanical and electrical components.
- Conduct inspections, diagnostic testing and fault-finding activities to identify mechanical, electrical or automation-related issues and assist in implementing corrective actions.
- Support the integration of automated equipment and ensure systems operate efficiently and safely to required performance standards.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, supervisors, electricians, fitters and commissioning teams to achieve project objectives and operational requirements.
- Verify system functionality, performance and compliance during commissioning activities and assist with testing procedures and documentation.
- Maintain compliance with workplace health and safety legislation, site procedures, isolation requirements and client standards.
- Support project delivery across multiple locations, ensuring installation and commissioning activities are completed within project schedules, deadlines and quality requirements
Requirements:
- Relevant technical or trade qualification appropriate to industrial automation, conveyor, materials-handling or related engineering/technical work; or equivalent demonstrated technical capability.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant full-time experience (or part-time equivalent) in industrial automation, conveyor/materials-handling, automated logistics, installation, testing or commissioning.
- Practical ability to interpret technical drawings, identify installation issues, work safely in active construction/industrial environments, work effectively with project teams, and travel interstate or work varying project schedules as required.
Annual salary: AUD $100,000 PA+ superannuation (40 hours per week)
