Handy Group is a privately owned Australian company that specializes in both postforming and cut-to-size kitchen componentry.
We require a Leading Hand/ Factory foreman to join our Postforming team and take responsibility for supervising staff, the manufacturing process and the efficient and smooth running of production.
Responsibilities include:
- Planning, coordination and control of the manufacturing process in conjunction with the Production Manager.
- Quality assurance – to ensure goods are produced efficiently, in the correct amounts and at the right quality levels.
- Ensuring adherence to required production schedules.
- Monitoring production processes and adjusting schedules.
- Ensuring that health and safety guidelines are followed, and continuous improvements implemented.
- Supervising and motivating the team (approx. 15).
- Inventory control and stocktakes.
- Assisting with maintenance schedules for machinery.
To be considered for this role you must have:
- Leadership experience within a production environment
- Be an Australian citizen or have permanent residency.
- A minimum of 1-2 years leadership experience within a production environment
- Good organisational skills
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- A commitment to safe working practices and the ability to inspire the same in your team
- Experience in cut to postforming and wood machining is preferred but not essential
- The ability to identify, analyse and solve problems, offering sound recommendations for resolution.
