The Position
Due to continued growth, we are seeking a skilled Gate Automation Technician to join our Sydney-based team.
This is a field-based position involving the installation, commissioning, servicing, fault-finding and preventative maintenance of automatic gates, boom gates, access control and associated security systems.
The successful candidate will work across a variety of commercial, industrial, government and other client sites throughout the Sydney metropolitan area.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
- Installation, servicing and maintenance of automatic gate and door systems
- Installation and servicing of sliding, swing and boom gate automation
- Installation and maintenance of access control systems
- Installation, servicing and fault-finding of ANPR and parking systems
- Fault diagnosis, troubleshooting and component replacement
- Preventative maintenance and system testing
- Commissioning and programming of automation and security equipment
- Working with CCTV and integrated security systems
- Providing professional on-site customer service and technical support
- Completing accurate service reports and documentation
- Ensuring all works are completed in accordance with relevant safety requirements and company procedures
- Operating and working from EWP equipment where required
- Liaising with clients, project managers and other trades on site
About You
We are looking for an experienced technician with a strong technical background and practical experience in automatic gates, access control, electrical, mechanical or security systems.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience with automatic gates, boom gates and/or automatic doors
- Experience with access control and security systems
- Strong electrical, mechanical and diagnostic skills
- Excellent fault-finding and troubleshooting ability
- Previous installation and field-service experience
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Good attention to detail and a professional presentation
- Current Australian driver's licence (HR preferred)
- Current EWP licence
- Full Australian working rights
Experience with ANPR, CCTV, access control, parking systems or integrated security platforms will be highly regarded.
