We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Hand to assist in the smooth operation of our kitchen. As a Kitchen Hand, you will play a key role in supporting our chefs and kitchen team by maintaining cleanliness, preparing ingredients, and assisting with basic kitchen tasks. The ideal candidate will be a team player with a strong work ethic and an eagerness to learn.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with food preparation, such as washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables or portioning meats.
- Wash and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and dishes.
- Keep work areas clean and organized, including sweeping, mopping, and removing trash.
- Ensure that all kitchen supplies are stocked and ready for use.
- Assist with unloading deliveries and storing food items correctly.
- Support chefs and kitchen staff with basic cooking tasks as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of storage areas, including refrigerators and freezers.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Ensure that all kitchen equipment is maintained and report any damage or malfunctions to the kitchen manager.
- Help with the packaging and labeling of food items for storage or delivery.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient and timely food preparation.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is a plus but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Good physical stamina and the ability to lift and move heavy items.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Knowledge of basic food safety and hygiene practices is preferred.
- Willingness to learn and take on new tasks.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year
