About the role
The Property Maintenance Officer is responsible for both preventative and remedial maintenance across the organisation's portfolio, including residential facilities, retirement villages, and corporate buildings. The primary goal is to ensure a safe, high-quality living environment for residents.
- Maintenance Duties: Conducting annual preventative inspections, performing general repairs (e.g., plumbing, carpentry, painting), managing capital replacements, and liaising with contractors.
- Compliance: Ensuring all work adheres to legislative requirements, including Fire Safety and Water Management standards, and maintaining accurate records of all maintenance activity.
- Team Collaboration: Supporting new staff, participating in meetings, and fostering a positive work environment.
- WHS: Maintaining a safe working environment by adhering to all Work Health and Safety policies and reporting hazards or incidents immediately.
The role may require after-hours work and participation in an on-call roster.

About you

The successful candidate will have the following;
- Experience & Knowledge: Experience in building maintenance or handyman services, project scoping, and familiarity with legislative compliance. Basic knowledge of gardening, irrigation, and relevant building codes/aged care standards is also required.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work autonomously, and a commitment to continuous improvement and person-centered service.
- Desirable requirements: Holding trade qualifications, possessing a current driver's license, and having a Certificate 3 or higher.
