This is a pivotal delivery role within the Rail Infrastructure Delivery Office, responsible for ensuring major rail investments transition successfully from construction into operational service. Reporting to the Executive Director (Rail Delivery & Safety), you will lead the integration and operational readiness function across a complex, multi-billion-dollar pipeline of projects shaping Queensland's rail network.
You will operate at the centre of delivery - translating infrastructure programs into functioning, safe and reliable rail services. This includes aligning operational requirements, coordinating network integration, and ensuring systems, processes and stakeholders are prepared for commissioning and ongoing operations. Your work will directly influence how new infrastructure performs in service, supporting consistent, customer-focused outcomes across the network.
The role carries accountability for driving integration disciplines across multiple concurrent projects. You will guide how infrastructure interfaces with existing rail operations, manage possession strategies to minimise disruption, and ensure readiness activities are executed in a disciplined, coordinated and timely way.
Operating in a high-risk, high-visibility environment, you will identify and manage operational impacts, balancing project delivery pressures with network performance and safety requirements.
You will lead a specialist team and work closely with delivery partners, contractors and government stakeholders to align complex technical, operational and commercial considerations. Your leadership will be critical in establishing clear expectations, driving accountability, and maintaining momentum across delivery interfaces.
A key aspect of the role is providing clear, evidence-based advice to senior leaders.
You will bring insight into integration risks, readiness status and operational impacts, supporting informed decision-making at critical points in the project lifecycle. Strong governance, disciplined reporting and a focus on measurable outcomes will underpin your approach.
Success in this role is defined by the seamless introduction of new rail infrastructure into the live network - where services operate safely, efficiently and as intended from day one. Your contribution will ensure that major investments deliver their intended benefits for customers, communities and the broader transport system, particularly in the lead-up to significant milestones such as the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Applications to remain current for 12 months.
