The Major Events and Festivals team delivers the City of Sydney’s Cultural strategy 2025–2035 through a series of large scale, major public and cultural events.
We’re looking for a casual Stage Manager join us in the planning and delivery of the Sydney Christmas, Art & About and Sydney Lunar Festival events for our 2026/2027 event season.
As the Stage Manager, you will be responsible for day-to-day management of entertainment activities across a wide range of events as well as show-planning, show calling, management of rehearsals, performer coordination and venue management where required.
You must be available full-time between late September to late February. You’ll be working Monday to Friday during pre-production periods for the events, and weekend work during event delivery where required.
In this role you will:
- Ensure effective management of all intended programming across assigned events throughout pre-production, event delivery and post-production.
- Formulate any required documentation such as run orders, schedules, stage plots and call sheets.
- Manage a small stage management team to ensure the safe and effective delivery of all programming across the various events.
- Other production, operational or logistics related duties as required.
To be successful you will have:
- Have tertiary qualifications or demonstrated experience in stage management, with significant experience in show-calling and stage management on large scale events or theatrical productions.
- Previous experience in the management of staff, performers and stakeholders on large scale events or theatrical productions.
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills.
