The Cairns and Hinterland Physiotherapy service provides a supportive and professional environment. Department staff are responsible for providing high quality services to patients and clients across the across Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service (CHHHS). About your opportunity:
The position also provides leadership within Physiotherapy services across CHHHS, including clinical practice supervision and participation in service improvement and quality activities to ensure timely effective service delivery.
Atherton Allied Health outreach to Croydon, Georgetown, Forsayth, Mt Surprise and Einasleigh and Primary Health Centres in the southwestern communities of the Atherton Tablelands. Mareeba Allied Health outreach to Chillagoe and Dimbulah and other north-western communities of the Atherton Tablelands. Tablelands and Mossman Allied Health can also offer Telehealth services where appropriate for outreach clients. Whilst nominally based at Lotus Glen Correctional Centre this position may be required to provide clinical services in any of the facilities listed above with variable clinical workloads.
In this position you will:
Provide clinical practice supervision to other physiotherapists, physiotherapy assistants and relevant staff, to ensure the maintenance of these clinical standards.
Actively pursue relevant professional development and contribute to the development and delivery of clinical education and training to other staff.
This position will contribute to the capacity of the physiotherapy service to ensure appropriate levels of resource allocation and service delivery across service streams which may include participation in relief, weekend overtime, after hours service provision and clinical caseloads across acute wards.
