The opportunity
The Executive and Project Officer is a trusted, hands-on role that sits at the heart of the Sustainable Communities directorate, providing high-level executive, project and governance support to the Director Sustainable Communities.
Working closely with the Director and leadership team, this role helps drive the effective operation of the directorate through proactive coordination, clear communication and strategic problem-solving. You'll be responsible for managing executive priorities, coordinating key projects and initiatives, supporting governance and reporting requirements, and building strong relationships across Council and with external stakeholders.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in delivering high-quality outcomes that support organisational and community objectives.
What you’ll do
- Provide confidential executive support, including diary management, meeting coordination and stakeholder liaison
- Prepare high-quality correspondence, reports, briefings and other executive communications
- Coordinate corporate events, civic functions, corporate calendars and Executive Leadership Team documentation
- Lead and contribute to organisational projects, research activities and strategic initiatives
- Drive process improvement and develop systems, procedures and resources that enhance organisational effectiveness
What you need to succeed
- Tertiary qualification in Business Administration (or related field) or extensive relevant experience
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex and confidential matters with discretion and sound judgement
- Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proven ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams
- Experience coordinating projects, improving processes and supporting senior leaders in a dynamic environment
