We are seeking a dedicated Female Mental Health Support Worker to provide individualised, person-centred support to a valued client living in an aged care facility in Mordialloc. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in the life of someone living with complex physical and mental health needs.
About the Role
This is more than a support worker position—it's an opportunity to build a trusted therapeutic relationship and help improve our client's wellbeing, confidence, and quality of life.
Working one-on-one, you will provide both emotional and practical support, with a strong focus on promoting independence, dignity, and social connection.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Building a positive, supportive relationship through regular engagement and meaningful conversation.
- Providing compassionate emotional support and responding appropriately to changing mental health needs.
- Encouraging participation in activities within the aged care facility and fostering positive social connections with other residents.
- Supporting community access, including outings and participation in meaningful recreational activities.
- Promoting choice, independence, and person-centred goals while respecting the client's preferences and routines.
- Observing changes in wellbeing and communicating effectively with the broader care team to ensure consistent, high-quality support.
We're looking for someone who is patient, empathetic, emotionally resilient, and confident supporting people with complex mental health presentations. If you enjoy building genuine connections and believe in recovery-oriented, person-centred care, we'd love to hear from you.
Essential Criteria & Qualifications:
- Certificate IV in Mental Health, 2nd/3rd year Psychology, Individual Support, Aged Care, or Nursing.
- Experience in mental health is mandatory.
- Confident working independently and engaging clients in community activities.
- Current Victorian Driver License (essential)
- Mandatory certificates required in the Care industry (must be willing to obtain)
