The Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Family Lawyer/Solicitor to take ownership of a portfolio of matters and contribute to the continued growth of the practice. This role is ideal for a confident practitioner who enjoys client work, is comfortable running matters end-to-end, and is ready for a leadership-oriented position within a boutique environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of Family Law matters, including complex parenting and property matters, from initial advice through to resolution (including litigation where required)
- Provide clear, practical advice and strong client service throughout each matter
- Draft and review Court documents, correspondence, agreements, and settlement documentation
- Prepare for and appear at Court events where appropriate, and brief/collaborate with Counsel as required
- Negotiate outcomes and represent clients in mediations, conferences, and other dispute resolution processes
- Build and maintain strong client relationships and contribute to client retention and referral growth
- Support, supervise and mentor junior team members (as required)
- Contribute to business development initiatives and firm growth
About You
- 7+ years post-admission experience (PAE)
- Strong background and interest in Family Law (parenting and property)
- Excellent communication, negotiation and drafting skills
- Proven ability to manage client relationships and deliver practical legal solutions
- Strong file management skills, including prioritisation and meeting deadlines
- Collaborative working style with an interest in leadership and mentoring
