About the role
The Clinical Nurse - Ward 2A provides expert clinical nursing care and leadership within a specialised surgical ward at The Prince Charles Hospital. The role delivers advanced patient-centred care for a diverse surgical population, including thoracic, vascular, urology and general surgical patients, while supporting the day-to-day functioning of the unit through evidence-based practice, education, leadership and portfolio management.
The successful candidate will provide advanced clinical assessment and intervention, support nursing staff in complex clinical situations, coordinate care within a multidisciplinary team and contribute to quality improvement initiatives. The role also offers leadership opportunities through shift coordination, team leadership and support for professional development activities within the ward.

Provide advanced clinical nursing care, assessment and intervention for patients across a broad range of surgical specialties.
Demonstrate leadership in clinical decision-making and provide support and direction to nursing staff in complex and changing clinical environments.

Support education, learning and professional development activities for staff, patients and families while fostering an evidence-based practice environment.
