We’re looking for an experienced Optical Dispenser to join our team on a casual basis.
You’ll be working in a busy optical practice where you’ll have the opportunity to use your dispensing skills across the full customer journey — from selecting frames and lenses through to measurements, ordering and final fitting.
This role would suit someone who is confident in their knowledge, comfortable working independently and enjoys providing a high standard of customer service.
What you’ll be responsible for
- Dispensing prescription eyewear and recommending appropriate lens solutions
- Helping customers select frames based on their prescription, needs and preferences
- Taking accurate PDs, heights and other required measurements
- Processing and checking optical orders
- Fitting, adjusting and repairing eyewear
- Managing both straightforward and more involved dispensing requirements
- Identifying and resolving dispensing or fitting issues
- Working with optometrists where further input is required
- Providing a positive and professional customer experience throughout the process
What we’re looking for
The ideal candidate will have:
- 2–3+ years’ experience as an Optical Dispenser
- Strong knowledge of prescriptions, lenses and dispensing
- Confidence managing the dispensing process independently
- Excellent measurement, fitting and adjustment skills
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Good communication and customer service skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities in a busy practice
- A practical approach to resolving problems and finding solutions

This is a casual position with hours based around practice requirements and your availability.
