CHEF – Fulltime position
Hox Cafe seeks full-time Chef to join our kitchen
team.
Hox Café, located at Hoxton Park, NSW is a culinary hotspot, where Middle Eastern flavors
meet modern innovation, with a special emphasis on Turkish cuisine. Our kitchen is alive
with the aroma of spices, sizzling meats, and smoky charcoal providing a unique experience
for Breakfasts & lunches.
We are looking for a qualified and experience chef with a customer service focus, having the
ability to surprise and delight our guests with innovative and stylish food through regular
menu updates
The role includes:
Responsibilities:
To prepare and serve a range of fusion meals at a consistently high standard
To support business growth by contributing ideas for menu development, training of
staff and other ideas.
Main Duties:
Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies
Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures – specifically
ensuring mix of traditional & contemporary cooking techniques are followed to retain
authenticity of the cuisine.
Prepare menu items adapting them to the dietary needs of the customers
Ensure quality and consistency by ensuring the kitchen team follows standard
recipes and presentation
Checking the quality of raw materials
Checking the cleanliness and operation of equipment before production
Engage effectively with suppliers in ordering daily supplies and receive and store
stock as per company standards and estimated requirement.
Explaining and enforcing food safety & hygiene regulations as per the current
regulations.
Hire, train and supervise kitchen staff
Ensure consistent and quality performance from kitchen team during peak trade
hours.
To be selected you must have:
Certificate IV in commercial cookery or higher or equivalent experience
At least 2 years’ experience as Chef
A genuine passion for food with attention to detail with presentation
Knowledge and Experience of middle eastern cuisine
An ability to think on your feet and multi-task, adapting food to meet guest allergy
requirements
We are offering excellent working conditions and a starting gross salary of $75,000

Pay: $75,000.00 per year

- Hoxton Park NSW 2171: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
Experience:
- Chef: 2 years (Preferred)
