The opportunity
This is a rare opportunity to develop the government engagement and advocacy strategy for QBE globally, helping shape how one of the country's leading organisations engages with government, political stakeholders and industry bodies.
As Head of Government Relations, you will develop and execute QBE's global government relations strategy, build influential stakeholder relationships and drive advocacy initiatives that support business priorities and public policy outcomes.
Working across a broad range of national issues, you will play a key role in positioning QBE as a trusted source of expertise and insight while strengthening the organisation's reputation and influence in an increasingly complex external environment.

Your new role
Develop and execute QBE's government relations and stakeholder engagement strategy across Australia.
Build and leverage senior relationships across government, political and industry networks to advance QBE's strategic priorities.
Shape and drive advocacy initiatives that influence public policy outcomes and enhance QBE's external profile.
Provide strategic counsel to executives on emerging political, regulatory and policy developments impacting the business.
Position QBE as a trusted and influential contributor to policy discussions across key industries and national priorities.
Partner with leaders across External Affairs, Public Policy and the broader organisation to deliver a coordinated and impactful stakeholder engagement agenda.
About you
You are a strategically minded government relations, public policy or corporate affairs leader with strong political acumen and a proven ability to influence senior stakeholders. You thrive in complex environments, build trusted relationships with ease, and bring a proactive approach to advocacy, stakeholder engagement and policy influence. Most importantly, you're passionate about helping organisations navigate change and contribute meaningfully to important public policy conversations.
Significant experience in government relations, public policy, corporate affairs or external affairs.
Demonstrated success delivering proactive advocacy and stakeholder engagement programs.
Experience influencing senior external stakeholders and decision-makers.
Strong understanding of political and government decision-making processes.
Experience operating successfully within a large, complex organisation.
Established government, political or industry stakeholder networks will be highly regarded.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
