Voyager is a multi-award-winning Tennis Academy and believe in tennis as a powerful life-enhancing voyage that helps an individual become the best person they can be.
Our programs start with the 3-5 year old age group with a well established pathway through to our students achieving U.S. College tennis scholarships and playing on the professional circuit thereafter.
We operate from 15 tennis facilities in Sydney, 1 facility in Melbourne, 1 facility in Northern NSW and two venues in Singapore and coach around 4000 players each week of all ages and abilities including more than 200 nationally ranked players.
Tennis professionals have the opportunity to progress their careers as we provide a pathway from Tennis Coach to High Performance coach, Assistant Head Tennis Professionals, Head Tennis Professional and management roles.
The Position – Role & Responsibilities
We are looking for a full-time Assistant Head Tennis Professional who will build their coaching hours to 38+ per week while supporting the Head Tennis Professional in the delivery and management of our coaching programs. You will coach players of all ages and abilities while taking on additional leadership, organisational and administrative responsibilities, including:
- Junior & Adult Development Programs – Deliver high-quality coaching programs while ensuring sessions follow Voyager's weekly themes and lesson structures.
- Performance Coaching – Coach developing and performance players, focusing on their technical, tactical, physical and psychological development.
- Private Lessons – Deliver effective private coaching sessions and manage your schedule to maximise coaching hours.
- Holiday Camps – Lead and coordinate junior and adult holiday camps, including supporting coach rostering, player groupings and program delivery.
- Competitions & Tournaments – Assist with and lead the delivery of ROGY competitions, adult club tournaments and other competitive events.
- Coach Leadership – Lead and support assistant coaches during group sessions, holiday camps and tournaments to ensure a high standard of coaching delivery.
- Customer Service – Create a welcoming environment for players and parents, provide feedback and recommendations, and respond professionally to client enquiries.
- Player Retention & Sales – Support trial lessons, follow up prospective players and recommend suitable coaching programs, private lessons, camps, competitions and other services.
- Organisation & Administration – Assist with player records, attendance, private lesson scheduling, holiday camp and tournament preparation, and other administrative tasks.
- Venue Operations – Support the Head Tennis Professional with the day-to-day operation of the venue and take over key responsibilities when they are on leave.
- Team Support – Build positive relationships with the coaching and operations teams, attend team meetings and contribute to a positive and high-performing workplace culture.
Hours / Remuneration
Hours will be predominantly Monday to Friday with one full day required each weekend (either Saturday or Sunday)
Remuneration will range $76,000 to $86,000 + superannuation per year, depending on the experience.
