About the role
KRSP is seeking an experienced Plant Operator to join our Capital Works team delivering critical infrastructure projects across remote Kimberly communities.
In this role, you will assist the Capital Works team in competent and safe machinery operation and manual labouring activities. Tasks include mobilisations of machinery and materials o remote sites. Assisting multiple trades in installation of new infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain plant and equipment including:
- Excavators
- Skid Steer Loaders
- Wheel Loaders
- Mobile Batch Plants
- Vehicle Loading Cranes
- Assist with mobilisation of plant, materials and equipment to remote project sites
- Support civil, mechanical, structural and electrical trades during project delivery
- Work safely in accordance with KRSP procedures and site requirements
You’ll assist a versatile, multi-trades team spanning electrical, mechanical, civil, and structural disciplines to deliver comprehensive infrastructure projects across remote Kimberley communities.
Projects may include but not be limited to:
- Wate and wastewater infrastructure
- Power generation and distribution assets
- Civil and earthworks projects
- Community facilities and essential service upgrades

Location and roster
This role operates on a Drive-In/Drive-Out (DIDO) basis from Broome to remote Kimberley communities.
- Kimberley residents are strongly encouraged to apply
- Fly-In/Fly-Out (FIFO) options are available for applicants outside the Kimberley
Roster: 18 days on / 12 days off.

Essential criteria:
Licences and Tickets
- Current HC class driver’s licence and a clean driving history
- Excavator Operations Competency
- Skid Steer Loader Operations Competency
- Vehicle Loading Crane (CV) High Risk Work Licence
- White Card
Experience and Skills
- Demonstrated experience operating heavy plant in construction, civil or infrastructure environments
- Experience working in remote locations
- Ability to work safely and independently with minimal supervision
- Experience driving on remote and unsealed roads
- Strong commitment to safety and teamwork
- National Police Clearance (or ability to obtain)
- Heavy Combination Drivers Licence (HC)
- Unrestricted working rights in Australia
Desirable criteria:
- Experience working in remote communities
- EWP High Risk Work Licence
- Confined Space Entry and Breathing Apparatus Competency
- Experience in remote infrastructure or essential services projects
- Loader, grader or dozer experience
