Casual Psychosocial Support Worker
Location: Mandurah
Employment: Casual – Building a team Support Workers to be added to a New Service
Hours: Flexible, according to participant needs
Pay: Competitive casual hourly rate + superannuation
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable and motivated Psychosocial Support Worker to join our growing team.
The successful applicant will provide person-centred support to people living with psychosocial disability and mental health challenges, assisting them to build confidence, develop independence, engage in their community, and work towards achieving their individual goals.
This is a practical, hands-on support role focused on empowering participants to live meaningful and fulfilling lives through strength-based, recovery-oriented support.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one psychosocial support in the home and community.
- Build positive, respectful and professional relationships with participants.
- Support participants to achieve their individual goals and aspirations.
- Encourage independence, confidence and decision-making.
- Assist participants with daily living skills, routine building and personal development.
- Support participants to access community activities, appointments and local services.
- Encourage social inclusion and meaningful community participation.
- Assist participants to develop and maintain healthy relationships and support networks.
- Promote participant choice, control and self-advocacy.
- Recognise and build on participants' strengths, abilities and achievements.
- Maintain professional boundaries and participant confidentiality.
- Complete accurate case notes, progress reports and required documentation.
- Communicate effectively with families, carers and other service providers where appropriate and with participant consent.
- Monitor participant wellbeing and report risks, incidents or changes in circumstances.
- Work in accordance with NDIS requirements, organisational policies and relevant legislation.

Essential Requirements
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Mental Health, Community Services, Disability, Peer Work or a related qualification.
- Experience supporting people with psychosocial disability, mental health challenges, disability or complex support needs.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Current Working with Children Check (if applicable).
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Current Australian Driver's Licence.
- Reliable registered and insured vehicle.
- Smartphone and basic computer skills for documentation requirements.
- Appropriate insurances and clearances required for the role. (if relevant)
Desirable
- Experience working in the mental health, disability, community services or housing sectors.
- Understanding of the NDIS and psychosocial supports.
- Experience supporting individuals to build independence, resilience and community connections.
- Mental Health First Aid training.
- Knowledge of recovery-oriented and trauma-informed practice.
- Lived experience of mental health recovery, where appropriately applied within professional boundaries, is valued.
