The role is responsible for the service delivery across both onshore and offshore processing teams that support our local custody service offerings for our Australian and New Zealand clients. This includes local custody clearing, settlements and corporate actions.
The Corporate Actions team within BSO is responsible for researching and processing fixed income and equity corporate actions across Australia and New Zealand markets, including complex events.
The Clearing and Settlements team is responsible for settling all equities, fixed income and associated cash across Australia and New Zealand markets, including physical certificate securities.
Principal Role Accountabilities
- Act as a first point of escalation for the onshore settlements and corporate actions team members
- Act as an SME across AU/NZ Settlement and Corporate Action process
- Contribute to the development of team members, ensuring a strong understanding of the settlement and corporate actions operating models, risks and controls
- Take ownership for resolution of reconciliation breaks assigned to the onshore teams, ensuring appropriate typology codes are applied
- Support management with oversight of offshore settlement and corporate actions teams, ensuring strong engagement between onshore and offshore teams
- Work closely with BSO account management teams and CSMs to ensure excellent service delivery and timely query resolution
- Collaborate closely with BSO change management team to implement process enhancements, drive efficiencies, and submit development requests for upcoming platform releases
- Lead 1LOD and 2LOD testing requests, ensuring all actions are closed within agreed timeframes
- Engagement with market infrastructure providers (eg ASX, NZX, NZClear), including supporting participation in annual contingency testing
- Support management in ensuring complete, timely and accurate delivery of regulatory reports and tax reports to relevant authorities

- Opportunity to act as a line manager for the graduate within the corporate actions team
- Assisting with preparation of supporting documentation for client service reviews, RFPs and Due Diligence sessions
What is required for you to succeed?
Technical
5+ years' experience in financial services with extensive knowledge across local custody operations
Degree qualified in Business, Accounting, Economics or related discipline preferred.
Proficient in PowerPoint, Word & Excel and familiarity with the application of digital automation tools within operational processes
