The Role
A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Legal Assistant to join our Perth Workplace Relations, Employment and Safety team on a full-time basis. You will play a crucial role in supporting the team to ensure the smooth operation of our legal processes.
The team of 3 partners and approximately 9 fee earners is a leader in its field in the Perth market. You will join a fast-paced practice that prides itself on collegiality and support among team-members. The team is very stable and close, with very little turnover, and regularly socialises outside of work.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Following new client processes including conflict and anti-money laundering checks;
- Opening new files;
- Preparing engagement letters;
- Court filing;
- Managing the monthly billing process end to end;
- Operating Docusign;
- Diary management including interfacing directly with clients;
- Preparation and reconciliation of expenses;
- Answering phones and liaising with clients; and
- General administrative duties.
Who We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- Between 3-5 years’ experience as a legal or executive assistant
- Excellent communication and diary management skills with a client service and team support focus
- Advanced skills in the Microsoft Office suite, billing software and Docusign
- Demonstrated experience in prioritising tasks, displaying initiative and managing busy periods
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
