About the role: Shape and deliver the resource planning and capacity modelling strategy for Network Operations, driving alignment between operational demand, workforce capability and business performance. This newly created role will lead the development of planning frameworks, embed data driven decision making, and deliver improvement initiatives that optimise efficiency, reliability and long term outcome.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of an integrated resource planning and capacity modelling framework aligned to business objectives.
- Develop and implement enterprise level resource planning strategies, ensuring alignment between demand, workforce capability and operational delivery.
- Own capacity modelling across short, medium and long term horizons to inform workforce planning, investment decisions and operational performance.
- Lead the development of standardised labour and resource planning practices to drive consistency, efficiency and improved decision making.
- Partner with senior stakeholders to translate operational demand into optimised resource plans and capacity forecasts.
- Establish and embed planning governance, processes and systems to deliver reliable and efficient resource allocation outcomes.
- Lead scenario modelling, forecasting and trade off analysis to support strategic planning and business case development.
- Deliver planning programs and continuous improvement initiatives, monitoring execution against strategic goals and resolving risks and issues.
- Develop and manage performance metrics, reporting and insights that improve planning accuracy, productivity and reliability.
- Provide expert analytical advice and recommendations to senior leaders on workforce strategy, capacity risks and optimisation opportunities.
About you: You are a strategic and commercially minded planning professional with strong operational experience, able to translate complex data and real world insights into practical, high impact planning outcomes.
- Extensive experience within rail, logistics or complex operational environments
- Strong project management capability, able to manage competing priorities across multiple functions
- Proven ability to lead change and influence stakeholders at all levels
- Deep knowledge of resource planning practices and workforce optimisation
- Advanced capability in SAP, data analysis, reporting and translating insights into business decisions
