Primary objective
In conjunction with the Global Content Manager, coordinate and deliver Tourism and Events NT's owned content and social media
program, ensuring content is strategically planned, optimised and distributed across owned, earned and emerging discovery
channels. Lead the day-to-day management of Tourism and Events NT's global consumer social media channels, supporting content
discoverability, audience growth and integrated marketing campaigns that inspire visitation to the Northern Territory and
attendance at major events.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Lead the day-to-day delivery of Tourism and Events NT's owned social media program, coordinating content publishing across
consumer and event channels to ensure activity aligns with brand priorities, marketing campaigns, seasonal opportunities and
audience needs.
2. Coordinate the end-to-end social content workflow, including planning, copywriting, publishing, approvals and quality
assurance, ensuring content is delivered on time and to brand standards.
3. Monitor, analyse and optimise social media performance using Brandwatch and platform analytics, providing actionable insights
and recommendations to improve engagement, reach and audience growth.
4. Identify emerging social media trends, platform innovations and distributed discovery opportunities, recommending new
approaches to improve Tourism and Events NT's visibility across social, search and AI-driven discovery platforms.
5. Coordinate and host global influencer and content creator famils throughout the Northern Territory.
6. Negotiate with external consultancies or suppliers to coordinate social media and content projects.
7. Liaise and positively maintain working relationships with tourism operators, the wider marketing team and other government
agencies.
8. Support the development and implementation of Tourism and Events NT’s social media strategy, translating broader brand,
content and marketing priorities into effective channel and content plans.
9. Provide project support and coordinate work in conjunction with the Global Content Manager.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated social media platform management experience, including the ability to source and develop new content, write
copy and schedule posts across multiple social media platforms.
2. Demonstrated understanding of the different social media platforms, their roles and functions in reaching audiences across the
consumer journey.
3. Highly developed organisational and project management skills, with demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple concurrent
projects, manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes within tight deadlines.
4. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills as well as proven ability to coordinate projects end to end with varying
deadlines and levels of urgency.
5. Advanced written and oral communication skills with the ability to represent Tourism and Event NT’s on the ground working
with industry.
Desirable
1. Knowledge and understanding of the Northern Territory tourism industry, including major players and relevant stakeholders,
or the ability to obtain such knowledge quickly.
2. Demonstrated experience in contributing to marketing programs in the Tourism or Leisure industry.
3. Proficiency in digital data analytics tools, demonstrated reporting capabilities and proactively optimising content based on
results.
4. Tertiary qualifications in communications, marketing, tourism and/or other related discipline.
5. Demonstrated experience coordinating and optimising social media activity across Tourism and Events NT's priority markets,
including Australia, New Zealand, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany and China.
