Metals & Minerals
As industry leaders in laboratory testing, Bureau Veritas Minerals has extensive operations throughout Australia providing services across the entire exploration and mining project cycle. Our state-of-the-art laboratories are strategically placed to help provide a wide range of inspection and laboratory testing services across a broad range of commodities.
The Opportunity
We are seeking applicants for a variety of entry level positions including, General Labourers, sample preparation, Laboratory Assistants. You will be based at our Atbara site in Kalgoorlie, WA and are excited by the challenges of our business and variety this role offers. These positions will be responsible for preparing predominantly Ore samples for testing or utilising specialised equipment for mineral analysis. You will be fully trained in these roles.
Key Responsibilities
Sample Prep:
- Handling of mining samples – sorting, Weighing, crushing and milling
- Ensure all samples are handled with accuracy and consistency
- Work efficiently to meet deadlines and laboratory requirements
- Prepare mining samples for laboratory testing according to strict safety procedures
- Operating the robotic pulveriser
Laboratory Assistant:
- Weighing, Digestion and preparation of samples for analysis
- Follow and adhere to laboratory procedures
- Maintain good laboratory housekeeping
About You
- Reliable and keen to work
- Physically fit, prepared to carry out manual tasks and able to lift upto 15kg sample bags of rocks, sand or core
- Have the ability to follow set procedures
- Good attention to detail
- Be willing to work as part of a team with a high focus on quality & Safety
