Join Ramsay Health Care Australia as the Workday Technical Lead and take on a pivotal role driving the performance, stability, and continuous improvement of our Workday platform across the organisation. As part of our Digital and Technology team, you’ll lead a team of technical specialists responsible for ensuring our Workday environment operates seamlessly, enabling critical HR and workforce processes that support over 35,000 employees nationally. This is a highly technical, hands-on leadership role where you’ll partner closely with HR, Payroll, Finance, and broader technology stakeholders to resolve complex system issues, optimise performance, and deliver enhancements that improve user experience and operational efficiency. What You’ll Do
In this role, you’ll lead the technical support and optimisation of Ramsay’s Workday platform, ensuring system stability, performance, and continuous improvement. Key accountabilities include:

Leading and mentoring a team of Workday technical specialists, providing guidance on troubleshooting, prioritisation, and best practice.

Acting as the primary escalation point for complex Workday technical issues across HCM, integrations, and security configurations.

Partnering with HR, Payroll, Finance, and IT stakeholders to resolve system issues and support business-critical processes.

Managing Workday integrations using tools such as Workday Studio and Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB).

Overseeing system configuration, enhancements, testing, and deployment of updates and releases.

Architecting custom Workday Extend applications, Orchestration frameworks, and advanced API integrations, ensuring custom-built solutions scale securely and deliver measurable business outcomes.

Developing and maintaining technical documentation, support guides, and knowledge base resources.

Monitoring system performance and proactively identifying opportunities for optimisation and improvement.

Liaising with Workday support, vendors, and external consultants to ensure timely and effective resolution of issues.

Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system usability, automation, and end-user experience.

Staying current with Workday releases, roadmap updates, and HR technology trends to identify innovation opportunities.
What You’ll Bring
You are a technically strong and collaborative leader with deep Workday expertise and the ability to translate complex system challenges into practical, business-focused solutions.

Extensive experience in Workday technical support, administration, or implementation.

At least 3 years’ experience in a Workday Technical Lead or similar leadership role.

Strong hands-on experience with Workday configuration, troubleshooting, and integrations.

Experience with Workday Studio, Workday Connectors, Workday Extend, Workday Orchestration, Workday APIs, Payroll Effective Change Interface (PECI), Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), Workday Report Writer, security configuration, and data management.

Solid understanding of HR processes and how they integrate within Workday HCM.

Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage competing priorities in a complex environment.

Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Experience supporting system upgrades, testing cycles, and production issue resolution.

Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with attention to detail.
Desirable
- Workday certification highly regarded.

Experience in a technical support lead role or with HR systems and platforms desirable.

Knowledge of data privacy and security principles preferred.

Additional IT or systems-related certifications highly regarded.

Exposure to emerging HR technologies and Workday integrations advantageous.

Knowledge of workforce planning and analytics tools beneficial.
