We are building the team to deliver the next chapter of Grosvenor Mine. With a planned return to longwall production by Q4 2027, this is a unique opportunity to contribute to a major mine restart and help shape the future of underground mining.
Working alongside experienced professionals, you will play a role in implementing leading-edge technology, automation, monitoring systems and operational improvements that will define how the mine operates for years to come.

Are you a data‑driven Reliability Engineer with proven underground mining experience? Join us at Grosvenor Mine, Anglo American’s high‑performance underground hard coking coal operation in Moranbah, QLD.
This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in one of the most technologically progressive underground sites in the country and we are seeking someone who brings hands‑on underground exposure and a passion for driving reliability excellence.
As our Reliability Engineer, you’ll ensure our maintenance systems perform to world‑class standards. You will drive reliability across critical underground equipment to sustain asset performance, reduce downtime, and support cost‑effective operations.
Working closely with the Engineering & Maintenance Manager, your key responsibilities include:

Leading reliability improvement initiatives across the engineering & maintenance teams.

Analysing asset performance and delivering long‑term improvement strategies.

Reviewing and refining maintenance strategies, with recommendations tailored to underground operations.

Coaching and supporting maintenance personnel to embed best‑practice processes.

Improving equipment availability through Asset Management, Condition Monitoring, Defect Elimination, Root Cause Analysis, and Machine Health Programs.

Actively contributing to ongoing continuous improvement and optimisation projects.
Qualifications
To be successful you will have the following:

Tertiary degree in Engineering or a related discipline

Demonstrated reliability or mechanical engineering experience within the Underground mining industry with a focus on Mobile fleet equipment & preventative maintenance

Monday to Friday staff roster (9-day fortnight available)
