The Head of Philanthropy and Donor Engagement is an exceptional executive opportunity for an influential and results-driven fundraiser who brings energy, initiative, and a proven track record of growing funding relationships. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this role will lead the development and execution of an integrated fundraising and marketing strategy to progress brand awareness, supporter engagement, and achieve year on year sustainable revenue growth.
The successful candidate will be commercially astute with a genuine commitment to growing social impact. You will inspire and develop a nationally distributed fundraising team to reach or exceed targets, modelling a values-led and donor-centric approach. Key to your success will be your innate business development skills – the ability to open doors, prospect new relationships, and effectively steward a portfolio of high value relationships.
We are seeking expressions of interest from fundraisers who aspire to the next step in their career or alternatively, an experienced executive who demonstrates the following:
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant field
- Demonstrated experience securing new opportunities, revenue or strategic partnerships
- Exceptional relationship-building and stakeholder engagement capability
- Strong executive presence and communication skills
- Leadership experience managing and motivating a high-performing team
- Energy, resilience and a proactive growth mindset
- Proven success in achieving revenue growth targets in a previous philanthropy, business development, partnerships or major donor role
- Experience leveraging data, digital platforms, and CRM systems to inform strategy and enhance supporter engagement and revenue outcomes
- A strong alignment with the mission and values of Opportunity International Australia
- Experience gained in the International Aid, Trusts and Foundations, or the Not for Profit sector will be highly regarded but not essential.
