About the Role
As a Senior Lead, Operational Risk & Resilience, you will be a trusted risk partner to Enterprise Finance and Corporate Enablement functions, leading operational and resilience risk management activities across end-to-end value chains, business processes, systems and data. You will drive risk assessments, influence control design, support regulatory and policy change implementation, and provide expert advice on operational, resilience and model risk management. Leveraging risk insights, analytics and emerging technologies, you'll help strengthen risk governance, improve control effectiveness, and support better business decision-making. Working closely with business leaders, risk teams and Centres of Excellence, you'll play a key role in uplifting risk capability, promoting accountability, and embedding a strong risk and compliance culture across the organisation
What will your day look like?
Advising stakeholders and leading and coordinating operational and resilience risk assessments across business processes, systems, data and end-to-end value chains.
Partnering with business stakeholders to design, uplift and embed sustainable risk controls aligned to enterprise frameworks and regulatory expectations.
Supporting regulatory and policy change implementation through impact assessments, guidance and business engagement.
Analysing risk trends, emerging risks, control effectiveness and root causes to deliver meaningful risk insights and recommendations.
Leveraging analytics, automation and AI-enabled solutions to strengthen risk monitoring and predictive risk management.
Preparing and presenting risk insights, governance materials and assurance outcomes for senior leaders and governance forums.
Collaborating with Line 2 risk teams and Centres of Excellence to ensure alignment to enterprise risk expectations.
Coaching and developing team members, strengthening operational risk capability and fostering a high-performing, risk-aware culture.
What will you bring?
We're looking for someone with significant experience in operational risk, resilience risk, compliance, audit or risk management within financial services or a similarly regulated environment. You'll also bring:
Strong knowledge of operational and resilience risk frameworks, standards and methodologies.
Experience leading risk assessments and advising on risk and control design across complex business environments.
Strong understanding of regulatory obligations, policy requirements and regulatory change management.
Experience assessing control effectiveness, identifying risk and control gaps and managing remediation activities.
Ability to interpret complex regulatory and risk requirements and translate them into practical business outcomes.
Expertise in preparing risk insights, governance reporting and executive-level materials.
Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to operate as a trusted first-line risk partner.
Experience coaching and developing colleagues while contributing to capability uplift and continuous improvement initiatives.
