THE ROLE
The Senior Support Officer within the Temporary Accommodation Support Team is responsible for providing client centred supports to eligible households impacted by the January 2026 bushfires.
The role will triage and assess applications referred to the team via the Emergency Recovery Support Program. The role will work collaboratively with individuals seeking temporary accommodation, their support service providers, internal stakeholders and the broader Victorian Government to develop initiatives that deliver client centred outcomes and high service standards for all those interacting with the program.
To be considered for this role you will need to hold a valid unrestricted Victorian drivers licence and be able to commute to fire impacted communities as part of recovery efforts.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
- Assess client's needs and provide advice on temporary accommodation options from a range of established policy, procedures and standards.
- Work closely with external partners, such as support services and other government departments to identify, assess, and manage risks to ensure high standards of client centred outcomes.
- Provide timely expert advice and develop open and effective communication strategies including collection of highly complex, contentious, or sensitive information on matters of staff or business.
