What you will do
Your key responsibilities will be:
Providing enterprise-level leadership and stewardship of the financial management function for State Library of Queensland and Queensland Library Foundation, including oversight of both strategic and operational financial performance, ensuring compliance with applicable legislative, regulatory and accounting frameworks.
Setting strategic financial direction and provide executive assurance over budget development, internal and external financial reporting, preparation of General-Purpose Financial Statements, coordination of external audit processes and financial risk management, ensuring appropriate financial controls and oversight are maintained.
Build and sustain strategic relationships with key stakeholders, including central agencies, service providers and governance bodies, to support effective financial governance, accountability and performance outcomes.
Strengthen commercial and financial acumen across the organisation by partnering with senior leaders to improve understanding of cost drivers, value for money and service sustainability.
Provide authoritative and strategic advice on financial sustainability, funding and delivery models, contracts and partnerships, constructively challenging proposals to ensure affordability, compliance and effective use of public resources.
Fulfil statutory and governance responsibilities for the Queensland Library Foundation, and provide strategic advice to support investment management, funding decisions and ensure alignment with organisational priorities.

Qualifications Technical/educational
To be considered for this role you are required to hold relevant tertiary qualifications and current registration as a Chartered Accountant Australia and New Zealand (CA), Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) or equivalent professional bodies (or holding equivalent finance related post graduate qualifications).
