Position Purpose

Working closely with a small team of ICT professionals the role supports the design, installation, configuration, deployment and maintenance of the airport’s server infrastructure and elements of its Microsoft 365 / Azure tenancy.
The specialist technical nature of the role necessitates involvement in an on-call roster.

Key Accountabilities

Technical

Provision, support and maintain Storage Area Network (SAN) infrastructure to facilitate business and project requirements
Provision, support and maintain physical and virtual (VMware ESX) server infrastructure
Maintain the server and SAN infrastructure monitoring environment
Install and maintain Microsoft server operating systems and related activities, including Active Directory configuration, endpoint protection and security patching
Support, maintain and upgrade multiple server based applications
Install and maintain Linux operating environments and related activities
Administer, maintain and update AAL database servers and related systems
Support the administration of the company’s Microsoft 365 / Azure tenancy
Ensure that server and storage infrastructure availability remain within agreed targets and service levels
Administer software and hardware license controls
Administer, configure and troubleshoot VPN and Remote Access solutions and devices
Administer access to computer systems in partnership with the network and cyber security teams
Conduct daily reviews of backup system to ensure their successful completion and co-ordinate restoration activities on an as-required basis
Ensure compliance and maintenance of the technology asset register
Administer Change Management policies and procedures
Administer access requests for database, network and security systems

Support

Provide quality 2nd and 3rd level technical support to the Helpdesk team, with a strong focus on customer service and support
Working closely with network infrastructure support, maintain, test and update disaster recovery procedures for server and SAN infrastructure
Research and participate in the procurement of relevant infrastructure, systems and services
Work collaboratively with support partners to ensure the timely delivery of services in compliance with agreed several levels
Support the review of policies and procedures that manage relevant technology assets, systems and services
Support the ongoing improvement in AAL’s cyber security posture, including participation in risk management and business continuity reviews

Team

Bring a collaborative, can-do mindset to the team and contribute to the advancement of the Business and Information Services (BIS) team’s workplace culture
Work collaboratively with all members of the BIS team to ensure that team’s timely delivery of business as usual and project tasks
Build partnerships and relationships across the business
Supply technical advice, guidance and work scope information to technology project enquiries
Participate in technology projects when allocated
Regularly review industry trends to ensure that the team is aware of best practice thinking on relevant infrastructure, systems and services
Actively contribute to the planning for the obsolescence, renewal or expansion of infrastructure, systems and services to ensure the team continues to satisfy business needs and service expectations

Qualifications/Skills/Experience

Appropriate related studies or certificates, either achieved or in progress, noting that the following demonstrated industry experience is essential:

Minimum 2 years’ experience with Microsoft Active Directory
Minimum 2 years’ experience with VMWare
Minimum 2 years’ Office 365/Azure environment administration
Minimum 2 years’ experience with Enterprise Server and SAN technology
Minimum 2 years’ experience supporting servers and SAN environments
Experience with customer service and help desk operating environments
Experience working within a technology team in a complex organisation
