Selection Criteria
SC 1 Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of student wellbeing interventions, programs and policies that address the social, emotional and
educational needs of students in a supported inclusion setting.
SC 2 Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and network with the wide range of people within the education and wider community.
SC 3 Demonstrated ability to provide information, advice and support to teachers and families responsible for the management of students experiencing wellbeing issues that are impacting on their learning outcomes.
SC 4 Knowledge of a range of assessments, capacity to undertake these and provide feedback to teachers, identifying barriers to learning and recommendations to improve
learning outcomes.
Please note: this is advertised as a full time position but the school is prepared to negotiate a time fraction of no less than 0.6 for a suitable candidate.
Role

Develop and demonstrate a clear understanding of DE policies and procedures to inform supports for students, including an understanding of the Schoolwide Positive Behaviour Support Framework.

Collaborate with teachers, allied health and Education Support Staff to develop, implement and monitor Tier 2 behaviour support strategies.

Co-facilitate Tier 3 Behaviour Support Meetings with leadership to include classroom teachers and allied health staff.

Conduct functional behaviour assessments to develop and implement proactive, individualised behaviour support plans (BSPs). Continuously review and refine BSPs to match evolving student needs.

Liaise with parents/carers and external agencies (where required) to promote positive partnerships and promote consistency between school and home.

Conduct professional learning for staff to support with implementation of student Behaviour Support Plans
Responsibilities

Work within the school based wellbeing team.

Build positive rapport with members of the school community

Liaise with DI Leader, Wellbeing /SWPBS Leader and APs.

Review individual behaviour data trackers and Compass Chronicles.

Maintain accurate and professional written documentation.

Monitor implementation of Function Based interventions.

Continually monitor effectiveness of Tier 2 and 3 processes and practices to ensure these best meet the needs of students, staff and families.

Maintain current knowledge and practice of DE policies including Restraint and Seclusion, Disability Inclusion, SWPBS Framework, OH&S Guidelines and Child Safety Standards.
Individuals with the aptitude, experience and/or qualifications to fulfill the specific requirements of the position.

Location Profile - Located on Wurundjeri land, Binap Primary School is a new school in Melbourne's western growth corridor. The school opened in January 2024 and is in the suburb of Brookfield which is within the City of Melton.
Binap Primary School is within 30 minutes' drive of Bacchus Marsh, Sunbury and Melbourne's western suburbs.
Our current enrolment is 430 students.
We are a Supported Inclusion School (SIS), which is a mainstream school with additional professional capabilities and facilities designed to cater for a higher than usual proportion of students with disability.
