Design Tiles is looking for a passionate and driven individual who is eager to develop and grow within a professional organisation. You will be working alongside our Director and Senior Estimator to assist in delivering the key responsibilities outlined below.
This position will be based in our Rockdale office.
Key responsibilities for this position include:
- Identifying and developing scopes of works
- Interpreting construction drawings, architectural drawings and specifications
- Preparing Bills of Quantities
- Project administration, including preparing a quote register listing all projects submitted on a weekly basis so they can be followed up from time to time
- Reviewing and evaluating cost estimates
- Completing quantity take-offs from construction plans using estimating software
- Liaising and coordinating with suppliers
- Assisting with general estimating and project administration tasks as required
The skills required for this position are:
- Sound knowledge of Cubit and Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel and Word
- Ability to read and interpret architectural plans and take off quantities
- Confidence in summarising drawings and project requirements
- Strong computer skills in Excel and measurement software
- Cubit or CostX experience is preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Great time management and prioritisation skills
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
- Willingness to undertake a variety of tasks and responsibilities
- Sound building and construction industry knowledge
- Ability to meet deadlines
- A relevant qualification and preferably 2 years of experience in estimating, ideally within the construction or trades industry

This role will be a contract-based position for a period of 6 to 12 months, as it is a maternity leave replacement role. However, as our company is growing, there is potential for this role to become permanent full-time position.

Annual Salary Package: $60,000 – $70,000 including superannuation per year, depending on competency and experience.
