About the Opportunity
As an Allied Health Assistant – Physiotherapy, you will play an important role in supporting the delivery of high-quality physiotherapy care to patients and clients across Central Coast Local Health District, working under the supervision of a qualified Allied Health Professional.
In this role you will:

Assist with direct patient care, including routine evaluations, preparing patients for treatment and providing information about physiotherapy services.

Support the delivery of prescribed therapeutic activities and exercise programs, working within your scope of practice and following guidance from the supervising Physiotherapist.

Observe and report relevant patient information to the supervising Allied Health Professional and broader multidisciplinary team to support assessment, treatment and care planning.

Provide administrative and operational support to the physiotherapy team, including maintaining records, managing resources and assisting with day-to-day tasks.

Work collaboratively with patients, families, carers and health professionals to support positive patient experiences and contribute to the delivery of safe, person-centred care.

About You
We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Allied Health Assistant who is committed to supporting patients and working collaboratively with Physiotherapists and the broader multidisciplinary team.
We are looking for someone who has:

A Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or a relevant qualification, or a willingness to undertake the required training. Physiotherapy undergraduate students who have completed their first year are also encouraged to apply.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, carers and health professionals.

The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, while seeking guidance when required.

Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and work within scope of practice.

Previous experience working in a health environment and a genuine commitment to providing safe, respectful and person-centred care.
