About the role
The Engineering Delivery Manager plays a critical role in accelerating IT outcomes across Automation, Data and AI by driving modern engineering practices, future-state tooling and high-performing teams. The role focuses on shifting from traditional, project-based delivery to an AI-enabled, product and platform-driven model, embedding quality, security and governance into everyday ways of working. It is accountable for improving end-to-end delivery flow and ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, supportable and deliver measurable business value.
A day in the life of an Engineering Delivery Lead at Toll Group:
- Lead end-to-end engineering delivery while aligning stakeholders to translate priorities into clear, measurable outcomes.
- Enable modern engineering toolsets and practices across the full delivery lifecycle, from planning to production support.
- Improve delivery flow by removing inefficiencies and using data and metrics to enhance predictability, manage risk and increase throughput.
- Promote AI-enabled ways of working and a product/platform mindset with reusable, scalable and governed assets.
- Ensure high-quality, secure and scalable solutions while challenging low-value work and outdated practices that create complexity or technical debt.
- Strengthen governance and collaboration by coordinating teams and vendors, improving visibility through metrics, and driving adoption with measurable business impact.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
Qualifications
- Relevant bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Business or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Desirable certifications or hands-on experience across Agile, Lean, DevOps, product delivery, cloud, data, AI, cybersecurity, ITIL or project delivery.
Skills and Experience
- Extensive experience leading engineering, software, automation, data or AI delivery in complex enterprise environments, working across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Strong expertise in modern engineering practices including DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing, release management, observability and production readiness.
- Proven ability to improve end-to-end delivery systems with a focus on flow, value, quality, adoption and continuous improvement.
- Experience enabling future-state engineering toolsets and embedding consistent practices across cross-functional teams.
- Solid understanding of AI-enabled ways of working and using delivery data/metrics to optimise performance and reduce waste.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing capability, with knowledge of relevant platforms and domain experience in logistics or similar environments desirable.
