About Aspire Academics
Aspire Academics is an in-person tutoring centre in Truganina supporting students from Years 3 to 12. We help students build genuine understanding, strong study habits and the confidence to do their best. We are growing our VCE team and looking for knowledgeable, dedicated teachers and tutors to join us.
The role
We are hiring across VCE Units 1 to 4 and welcome applicants for one or more of the following subjects:
- VCE English
- VCE Mathematics (Mathematical Methods, General Mathematics and/or Further Mathematics)
- VCE Chemistry
- VCE Biology
- Other VCE subjects (if you specialise in another subject, we would still like to hear from you)
You will work with small groups and individual students on content mastery, SAC preparation and exam technique. Hours are flexible: we are open to both casual/sessional and ongoing part-time arrangements, including after-school and weekend sessions.
What we are looking for
- A strong record in the subject(s) you wish to teach (a high VCE study score, relevant tertiary study, or teaching experience)
- The ability to explain concepts clearly and patiently, and to coach exam and SAC strategy
- Reliability, professionalism and a warm, encouraging manner with students
- Full working rights in Australia
- A valid Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain one before commencing)
Desirable (not essential)
- Prior VCE tutoring or teaching experience
- Familiarity with the current VCAA study designs
- A study score of 40 or above in the subject you wish to teach
