We're looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join our team at the Carmichael Mine in Central Queensland.
You'll partner with operational leaders to provide practical HR advice and support across a broad range of employee relations, performance management and workforce matters. This is a hands-on role where you'll build strong relationships across site and play a key part in supporting our people and leaders.
This position is offered on a FIFO 5/2/4/3 roster from Townsville or Rockhampton.
What You'll Be Doing
- Provide day-to-day HR advice and support to leaders across employee relations and people management matters.
- Assist with performance management, investigations, grievances, misconduct and disciplinary processes.
- Prepare employment documentation including warnings, investigation outcomes, performance improvement plans and termination correspondence.
- Coach supervisors on employment legislation, Enterprise Agreement interpretation and HR best practice.
- Support fitness for work, return-to-work and absenteeism management in collaboration with the Health team.
- Build strong relationships with leaders and employees to promote a positive, compliant and high-performing workplace.
- Coordinate with Payroll, Travel and Site Administration to resolve employee travel and roster-related queries.
- Assist with HR initiatives, projects and continuous improvement activities.
- Escalate complex employee relations matters where required.
About You
You'll be a confident HR professional who enjoys working closely with operational teams and providing practical advice that supports both employees and the business.
You'll also have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Previous experience in an HR Advisor or generalist HR role.
- Experience supporting employee relations, investigations, performance management and disciplinary processes.
- Working knowledge of Australian employment legislation, Awards and/or Enterprise Agreements.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience within mining, construction, civil, manufacturing or another industrial environment will be highly regarded.
